Pouilly Fume Magma Domaine de la Croisee 2023
Nolwenn and Matthieu left careers in publishing and finance to revive a small, neglected Pouilly-Fumé estate in 2019. Farming organically at the crossroads of the appellation's varied soils, their Sauvignon Blanc carries flint, citrus and youthful ambition.
Magma blends the estate's three principal soil types — marl, clay-limestone and flint-laced sand. The 2023 should show layered citrus, stone fruit and a distinctive flinty smokiness, the hallmark of Pouilly-Fumé's best gunflint sites.
