Pouilly Fuisse Premier Cru Vers Cras Domaine Cheveau 2023
In the hamlet of Pouilly, three generations of the Cheveau family have coaxed rich, mineral Chardonnay from clay-limestone and granite slopes. Their Pouilly-Fuissé range, including newly classified Premier Crus, reflects patient, parcel-by-parcel Mâconnais craftsmanship.
Vers Cras is planted on brown, stony clay in Solutré-Pouilly. The 2023 should show a rich, complex Chardonnay with notable minerality and citrus-fruit intensity, aged in demi-muid for texture and length — decades of family refinement across the Mâconnais.
