Madiran Rouge Vieilles Vignes Domaine Labranche Laffont 2021

In the foothills of the Pyrenees, Christine Dupuy became Madiran's youngest winemaker in 1992 and one of its first women to lead an estate alone. Organic since 2014, she has elevated Tannat's reputation with wines of surprising suavity, precision and elegant fruit.

Vieilles Vignes is 100% Tannat and one of only two Madiran cuvées in the appellation made from pre-phylloxera vines. The 2021 should show a dense, dark robe with cassis liqueur intensity and velvety, mature tannins — a powerful red built for extended cellaring.
