Bourgueil Nuits d'Ivresse Domaine Pierre Breton 2023

In Restigné, Pierre and Catherine Breton have farmed organically since 1990 and biodynamically soon after, with son Paul now at their side. Their Bourgueil, Chinon and Vouvray wines favour purity of fruit over polish — natural winemaking pioneers of the Loire.

Nuits d'Ivresse holds a landmark place in natural winemaking — its first, 1994 vintage was made without any added sulfur. The 2023 Cabernet Franc, from gravel and clay soils, should show bright, juicy red fruit with soft, easy tannins — joyful, gulpable Bourgueil.
