Vin de France Pinot Noir Domaine Rocher des Violettes 2023

Xavier Weisskopf traded a career as cellar master at Château de Saint-Cosme in Gigondas for a patch of pre-war Chenin vines in Montlouis in 2005. Organic since 2008, Le Rocher des Violettes crafts crystalline, mineral whites and reds of rare purity and precision.

This Pinot Noir is one of the atypical varieties Xavier Weisskopf planted to diversify his largely Chenin-focused Montlouis estate. The 2023 should show fresh red fruit with the same precise, minimal-intervention winemaking that defines his celebrated white wines.
