In the Black Forest foothills of Baden, Mark Enderle and Florian Moll farm Pinot Noir on ancient Buntsandstein sandstone with biodynamic precision. Their wines are delicate, translucent and deeply terroir-driven — a German take on Burgundy that is entirely its own.
Buntsandstein is named for the ancient red sandstone soils of Baden that give Enderle & Moll's Pinot Noir its distinctive translucent ruby colour and lightness of touch. The 2020 shows wild strawberry, red cherry, dried rose and a sandy mineral quality — ethereal, Burgundy-like in precision.
