Guillaume Gilles is one of Cornas' most exciting young producers, farming his granite terraces with a patience that belies his age. His Syrahs are concentrated yet refined — pure expressions of this volcanic appellation's dark intensity and capacity for graceful evolution.

Nouvelle R likely refers to Les Rieux, a parcel Gilles planted himself in 2010 on sandy granitic soil. The 2022 Syrah should show a more delicate, perfumed style than the domaine's Chaillot cuvée, with violet aromatics and elegance.
