Domaine Ménard-Gaborit
In the heart of the Nantes wine region, around the Moulin de la Minière—one of the few preserved windmills in the region and one of the highlights of the appellation—Domaine Ménard-Gaborit has been cultivating its vineyards since 1734. Today, François Ménard, representing the sixth generation, is writing the next chapter of this exceptional family history alongside Pauline. The estate spans approximately 60 hectares in the Muscadet Sèvre-et-Maine region, planted on clay-siliceous soils resting on a gneissic bedrock—a distinctive terroir that imparts the wines’ salinity and minerality.
Entirely dedicated to the Melon de Bourgogne grape, the estate offers a rich selection of nine Muscadet cuvées, sourced from the communal vineyards of Gorges, Monnières Saint-Fiacre, and Le Pallet, as well as wines from single-vineyard plots in the “Inspirations” range. Aging on lees—lasting from 6 to 48 months depending on the cuvée—develops the complexity, texture, and aging potential that characterize great Muscadets.
