Domaine Lafouge
Domaine Lafouge is a discreet yet impeccable estate located in the heart of Auxey-Duresses. Run by the same family for several centuries, the domaine today farms around 12 hectares spread across Auxey-Duresses, Meursault, and Pommard. Modest in size and remarkably consistent, it remains surprisingly under the radar despite the quality of its wines.
There is little emphasis on communication here —reputation has been built solely through the wines. Viticulture is carried out with a thoughtful, reasoned approach close to organic principles, respecting soils and natural balance. In the cellar, winemaking is traditional and low-intervention: indigenous yeasts, gentle extractions, and precise élevage with restrained use of oak.
The whites, notably Meursault, are elegant, structured, and tension-driven, while the reds from Auxey-Duresses and Pommard offer purity, balance, and classic Burgundian character. A true insider’s domaine, Lafouge delivers honest, age-worthy wines of quiet authority.
