Domaine Henri & Gilles Buisson

The Buisson name is inseparable from the history of Saint-Romain, a village defined by its ancient winemaking roots. While the family’s viticultural heritage dates back to 1758, it was the visionary Henri Buisson who truly shaped their modern destiny. In 1947—the very year Saint-Romain was granted its AOC status—he established himself as an independent grower, planting the first 5 hectares of what would become a family legacy.

Guided by a spirit of freedom and authenticity, the Henri & Gilles Buisson estate has remained fiercely independent. Henri’s son, Gilles, alongside his wife Monica, carried this vision forward. Together, they expanded the estate to 14 hectares by 2000, modernizing the winery and investing in the future. Their dedication built the momentum for the next generation, providing their sons with a premier estate where they can now craft wines that truly reflect their terroir.
