Domaine Guillaume Gilles
Guillaume Gilles is a winemaker imbued with humility and passion who embodies the elite of the young guard in the northern Rhône Valley. Trained by great winemakers such as Jean-Louis Chave, the master of Hermitage, and Robert Michel, one of the pioneers of Cornas, Guillaume Gilles has been working since 2002 on one of Cornas' great granite terroirs: Les Chaillots.
Today, he follows in the footsteps of his masters, magnificently bringing out the expression of the great wines of the northern Rhône valley, on a complex terroir that he masters to perfection. His Cornas are nectars of remarkable depth, delightfully combining power and finesse in an enveloping fleshiness. Demain les vins opens the doors to this estate, which produces a confidential number of bottles each year.
The wines are matured for 15 to 18 months in oak foudres and 600-liter demi-muids, allowing the wood to integrate harmoniously and the aromas to develop slowly.
